Volunteers Needed for Utopia Committees!

Can you help?

Crime Watch Representative Needed

The 2016 Board of Directors SEEKS Members to represent Utopia HOSA at the “Grove Crime Watch” Meetings. Our community organization is the role model for other neighborhoods. We need a representative to attend monthly meetings and report back to our membership.

Social Committee

We all know “it takes a village” – and by gosh, we are one! So please take the time to lend us a hand. We’ve not had one of our legendary social events in a while because frankly that same crew is getting tuckered out. We have an offer of a wonderful house for an outdoor evening event, perhaps a dance party! We also have suggestions for family events in our little park such as a picnic, BBQ, and/or cocktail get together, but we need new people to lead our Utopia social life.

Website

Utopia has a feature rich website. We’re looking for new ideas on how to make it better.

Please let me know if you can join or lead a committee!

The Utopia Homeowners Security Association, in addition to helping ensure safety and security in the neighborhood, organizes and hosts social events during the year including free movies in the park, neighborhood garage sales and progressive dinners.  Homeowners and residents living within the boundaries are encouraged to join and may contact Azar at Lucasazar@aol.com.

Welcome to Utopia!

definition (Merriam-Webster): Utopia: a place of ideal perfection especially in laws, government, and social conditions.

Welcome to the Utopia Homeowners Association website. The Utopia Homeowners Association is a voluntary organization formed to ensure the safety and security of its residents. Our primary function is to employ off duty Miami Police officers to patrol our neighborhood for enhanced security. These uniformed, armed officers patrol in marked Miami Police vehicles and have the full enforcement authority of an on-duty police officer but they are dedicated to our neighborhood and serve as first responders in the event of an emergency. We encourage all residents in our neighborhood to join our organization so we can expand the level of security services. A quick look at the crime watch map and it becomes quite obvious that our small patch of “Utopia” is a very safe place.

In addition to providing our neighborhood enhanced safety, the Utopia HOA also organizes social activities. We believe that community activities such as a movie in the park, progressive dinner party, or neighborhood yard sale give neighbors a chance to meet each other and develop friendships. Those bonds of friendship make Utopia a fun place to live and add security by increasing our awareness of what’s happening in our neighborhood. We hope our members will use this website to communicate with each other and organize neighborhood activities like a bike ride to Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens, a garden club, a sailing competition, or even a babysitting referral.

Membership Drive – Safety in Numbers

A subcommittee to the Utopia Board has been recently formed to reach out for growth of our membership. What began as neighbor members interested in group events evolved into the realization that additional police coverage for our area must be our number one priority with group events focused on building membership that will allow us to contract for more patrol hours.

The membership fee is only $3.37 per day, and we know by crime stats that Utopia police coverage makes a difference.   Twenty more families would provide sufficient income to contract 13 more patrol hours per week and we believe that with the right approach many families will join.  If you would like to help our effort, please call Mario Klappholtz or any of the committee members directly, or send a message to  uhoa10@gmail.com
